One of the terms or questions you often hear homebrewers talking about is gravity. What was the gravity? Or what’s the final gravity?
Just what is this gravity,, or more accurately “specific gravity” and why do we care about it.

It just was St Patrick’s Day! Here is my very condensed history of the Irish Stout.
St Patricks day is one of the best “beer” holidays there is. What beer do we all think of as the St Pats staple? Guinness.

Alot of you probably seen the Solidarity brew for the Ukraine situation.

I was going to doing our monthly club brew and seen this a few days before,, so why not.
It labeled as an Anti Imperial stout. But feels more like a porter to me. I figured out a smaller abv batch to brew.. but as much as I like beets I decided to leave them out.

Ended up with an OG of 1.056. Has a good malt selection and really smells great in the kettle.

Been in the primary two weeks now so I’ll be taking a look at it one of these day now and decide when to get it kegged up.
There should be reviews of this recipe coming out soon from all over, and I can’t wait to compare what other proportions and gravities other people brewed.
